Deniz Kaplan - Guitar
Hello! My name is Deniz, and I have been playing and teaching guitar for many years! I absolutely LOVE my instrument and I am passionate about sharing its beauty and fascinating story with everyone! Whether you're a beginner or an advanced student needing guidance, let's explore the joy of playing guitar together!
In addition to teaching at Schubert School of Music, I teach classical and contemporary guitar, and electric bass in primary and secondary schools across Melbourne including Caulfield Grammar, St Joseph's Malvern and St Aloysius College amongst others. Apart from teaching, I have experience as an adjudicator at guitar competitions at eisteddfods, including Ringwood Eisteddfod and Boroondara Eisteddfod, and I help run the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria (cgsv.org).
I am a strong believer that music education and the opportunity to learn and play a musical instrument should be accessible to everyone, no matter their background or age.
Dane Douglas - Piano
Hi there! My name is Dane, and I am a classically trained pianist passionate about sharing all genres of music with people of all ages and abilities.
I have extensive experience preparing students for AMEB and VCE examinations but do not focus my teaching methodology solely on exam preparation. Instead, I believe learning music in a holistic way fosters skills and processes which allow students to develop into well-rounded musicians and individuals!
In addition to teaching at Schubert School of Music, I also work as a Pianist and Accompanist at Brighton Grammar and Mercy College. I look forward to sharing a musical adventure with you soon!
