Do you offer trial lessons?

We offer all new students a free introductory 30 minute lesson with no obligation to continue.

Do you offer online lessons?

On occasion we offer online lessons for students. These are dependent on students' circumstances. We encourage you to attend as many face-to-face lessons as you can.

Do I need my own piano?

I am an adult, can I enrol in piano lessons?

YES! We encourage all adults to discover or rediscover their love for playing music! Our adult students find learning an instrument one of the most rewarding experiences in their life. Some students are coming back to learning an instrument which they may have learnt in the past, others are discovering something totally new! Remember that as an adult you have the willingness and passion to play and practice your instrument. Most of all, you will not regret it!

What happens if I miss my piano lesson?

We understand that sometimes life can get in the way! If you are unable to attend your lesson, please inform us and we can provide you with a makeup lesson. We require at least 24 hours notice for all cancellation of lessons.

What is the duration of a typical piano lesson?

All lessons at Schubert School of Music are typically 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour long, depending on the student's age, level, needs and preferences.

Do I have to take piano exams?

No! At Schubert School of Music we help students prepare for AMEB and ANZCA grading exams. Some students' learning is enhanced by completing grading exams, some students excel without them! Exams are just a tool for your music learning journey and they are not a necessary part of your learning.
